Laugh Your Way to Victory: 44th Seattle International Comedy Competition is coming to MBT

Ten semi-finalists, one winner! Phillip Kopczynski, second place winner of the 2019 Seattle International Comedy Competition, is bringing his high-energy hilarity to MBT as he hosts the 2024 Seattle International Comedy Competition. Ultimately, the audience declares the winner after each comedian performs their very best, tight ten-minute set! Fans of this legendary event agree the semi-finals provide the most entertainment value because there is little difference in the level of talent between those who advance and those who do not. The audience’s favorite will take home first place!

Born and raised in the mountains of Eastern Washington, Phillip Kopczynski started comedy at age 11 doing pratfalls to make his sister with Down Syndrome laugh. Always pulling from life experiences and poorly thought-out opinions, Kopczynski’s animated storytelling pulls in audiences for an eccentric good time. He has been seen on the live podcast Kill Tony, in Superbowl commercials, and has toured from Vancouver, BC to Orlando, FL. In 2018, he placed second at the Seattle International Comedy Competition and was a semifinalist at the Boston Comedy Festival. His Drybar Special, Full Grown Man, has been viewed over a million times, and his Comedy Dynamics special, Live at the Spokane Comedy Club, has been seen by hundreds of prisoners.
